Our Story

December 3rd, 2025, started like any other day, but in God's perfect timing, it quietly became the day our whole world shifted. A simple connection on Facebook sparked a conversation that instantly felt different—easy, warm, and rooted in a peace that could only come from Him. What began as messages on a screen quickly turned into late-night calls and a deep, faith-filled connection that neither of us saw coming, proving that the Lord was already weaving our paths together.

By January 15th, 2026, the distance between us couldn't hold out any longer. Stepping out in faith to meet in person for the very first time, all the nerves melted away the moment we saw each other. It was instantly clear that God had orchestrated this meeting: this wasn't just a blossoming romance, but the faithful beginning of our forever.

Falling in love came fast and effortless, a true blessing from above. Living apart tested our patience, but love and prayer made every mile worth it. Trusting in His plan to bridge the distance, we traveled once a month to hold each other close, explore new places together, and count down the days until we wouldn't have to say goodbye anymore. Every airport, every highway, and every month brought us one step closer to where the Lord intended us to be: together.

On December 29th, 2026, we'll stand side by side before God, our families, and our friends to say "I do," exchanging promises that turn two separate lives into one shared future under His grace. To celebrate the covenant of our marriage, we're setting off on a short honeymoon —spending several uninterrupted, sun-soaked days traveling through California as newlyweds. It will be a time to soak in the joy, give thanks for His blessings, laugh under the West Coast skies, and celebrate the beautiful love story He authored for us.

And when the road trips end, the best chapter of all begins. Hand in hand, guided by faith, we'll pack up the car and bring Olivia home to Cimarron, New Mexico—no more long flights, no more monthly countdowns, just a lifetime of everyday quiet moments, big adventures, and loving each other for all the days to come.

Getting Here

The closest airport is San Diego International Airport (SAN), about 30-35 minutes from Encinitas and Carlsbad.

Where to Stay

We don't have a hotel room block set up, so feel free to stay wherever works best for you — a typical hotel or an Airbnb both work well. It really depends on what you're looking for, and Southern California gives you plenty of room to price shop — there are options at every budget in each of these areas:

Beach communities (closest to both venues): Carlsbad, Encinitas, Solana Beach, Cardiff

Inland (a bit further out): San Marcos, Escondido, Rancho Bernardo, Rancho Santa Fe

City (about 30-40 minutes away): San Diego

Getting Around

Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is widely available in the area, but since the ceremony and reception are two different venues about 15 minutes apart and guests are driving themselves between them, having a car for the weekend will give you the most flexibility — whether that's a traditional rental or a peer-to-peer option like Turo. FAQs

What should I wear?

Semi-formal, with an eclectic, vintage-inspired feel — unique to you, classy, and full of character. This isn't a black-tie affair, and please, no jeans. We're not asking for matching — just come dressed with personality.

Is the ceremony on the sand?

No — the ceremony will be held on the grassy lawn at the Moonlight Beach Overlook, overlooking the ocean, not down on the sand itself.

Are the ceremony and reception at the same location?

No — the ceremony is at the Moonlight Beach Overlook in Encinitas, and the reception follows at the Woman's Club of Carlsbad, about 15 minutes down the road.

Is there parking, and is it wheelchair accessible?

Yes at both locations. The Moonlight Beach Overlook has a parking lot nearby and accessible pathways. The Woman's Club of Carlsbad has on-site parking for about 55 cars.

Will the ceremony happen rain or shine?

Yes — outdoor, rain or shine. Rain in San Diego in late December is uncommon, but if severe weather forces a change of plans, we'll send a text to the phone number you give us with your RSVP, so please include your best number.

Are kids invited?

Absolutely — "Jesus said, 'Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these'" (Matthew 19:14). Children are warmly welcome at both the ceremony and the reception.

How long is the ceremony?

It's a full wedding service, not a quick one — plan for a slightly longer ceremony than you might expect, held entirely outdoors.

What's the weather usually like?

Encinitas in late December tends to be mild: afternoon temps typically run in the low-to-mid 60s°F, with only about a 15% chance of rain. There's usually a light coastal breeze, so it can feel cooler than it looks on paper — a light jacket or wrap is a good idea, especially once the sun starts going down.

Do we need to travel between the ceremony and reception?

Yes — the ceremony ends at 3:00 and the reception begins at 3:30 at a different venue, about a 15-minute drive away. Please plan to drive yourself (or coordinate a ride) between the two.

Can we use our phones during the ceremony?

We're asking all guests to please keep phones put away during the wedding service — we want everyone fully present with us, and our photographer has it covered. Feel free to take all the photos you'd like at the reception!

Will there be alcohol?

We won't be serving alcohol — just canned drinks and good company to keep the celebration going!

Can I bring a guest?

We've kept our celebration intimate, so we're only able to accommodate those named on your invitation. Thank you for understanding!

When should we RSVP by?

Please RSVP by October 29, 2026 — exactly two months before the big day.
